LIS DE VRIES

I am a textile artist based in Naarm Melbourne, Australia and create textile pieces using techniques such as weaving, printing and embellishment. My pieces explore the use of fragments and remnants, they are bold, sometimes contain form, and feature non-fibre elements such as leather, seaweed and wire. My piece, 'Shagpile' received a Best in Object Design Award at the 2022 Melbourne Design Fringe.
