This work showcases a traditional inlay weaving technique developed by Theo Moorman. It was woven on an 8-shaft floor loom and features a ground cloth woven as a balanced weave with a tie-down warp. The warp is cotton and the weft cotton and wool with leather fragments. The work brings the technique to a contemporary context and explores the possibilities of creating a floating surface, with free form colour areas, reminiscent of a tidal pool which inspires reflections.
